Why tallow?
One of the reasons tallow remains popular is its naturally occurring fatty acids, which have similarities to the lipids found in our own skin.
Helps support the skin barrier
The fats naturally present in tallow can help nourish and support the skin’s protective barrier, helping skin feel softer and more comfortable.
Helps lock in moisture
In balms, tallow creates a protective layer over the skin. This can help reduce moisture loss, especially for dry, rough or chapped skin.
A beautiful traditional soap
Properly saponified, tallow makes a firm, long lasting bar with a rich, creamy lather, valued for cleansing and conditioning.
Simple, traditional skincare
Tallow balms can be made with a small number of carefully chosen ingredients, for people who prefer simple, traditional skincare.
A little reminder: natural skincare is not necessarily suitable for everyone. Skin is individual, and very sensitive or eczema prone skin may benefit from particularly gentle, fragrance free products.

Handmade in Preesall
The recipes take years. A batch is made, tried, and made again, until it is worth keeping. A bar uses four ingredients: grass fed tallow, olive oil, coconut oil and castor oil.
When a recipe is ready, it goes to a registered lab for testing, and Soaposh carries out the cosmetics safety assessments.
